Apartment Review for Homestead Apartments - Fullerton, CA

I do not recommend these apartments to anyone! There are many others to choose from in the area! We co-signed an apartment for our first year in college daughter. When we signed the deposit form for a ten (10) month agreement, the current manager continued to push a twelve (12) Month agreement. We explained that there was no reason for a twelve month agreement. After the signing of the paperwork, the manager informed us all our daugther had to do was come back in to pick up the keys and sign the final agreement. Well, our 18 year old went in the following week to sign the final paperwork where the manager placed "SIGN HERE" stickies and to pick up the keys. The paperwork that she signed was for twelve months. When we attempted to get out after ten months we were informed of the situation. Appartently that manager had been fired and the manager that informed us that we had two more months to pay also informed us that she would speak to the companies lawyers for us to get out of it. Two months later we received a phone call from a new manager, asking us if our daughter was still in the apartment, so we could pay for the next month! She informed us that the last manager had been fired as well. During the duration of our daughters stay, it tookmany phone calls to get anything fixed in that apartment. For example; when she moved in the management promised us that the carpet would be cleaned. I had to take four days off, just to stay at the apartment to make sure it was done! The carpet did not get cleaned until the fifth day, by then I had to return to work! Also the place was infeasted with waterbugs and mice. It took two days to get that fixed and the leaking sinks fixed. We are going to report these people to the local Better Business Bureau. We trusted the management, which in this case we should not have. It is partly our fault for not reading the final document, but we also believe that the management was tricky and knew that they were being sly! Plus when we attempted to speak with their lawyer team, they were very rude and did not want anything to do with us to help us out of the evel actions that their management team caused! Of course there is more, but I am trying to keep this short.
