Apartment Review for Homestead Apartments - Fullerton, CA

First of all, every negative comment about Homestead is true. Yes they're all true. Management does nothing but scam people into living at Homestead. It's appearance is immaculate, but looks are deceiving. Amidst green manacured lawns and freshly painted apartments, lurks inadaquate parking, unfair management practices, high rent, poor maintainance, and lack of care from staff. They promised fair rent...1350 /month for a two bedroom, OK considering the place looks great. But don't be fooled. Rent was then raised $100.00 more. Management has no idea what's going on in the complex and they don't care. They don't live there. It's just a 9-5 job for them. There's very little parking. Yes you get ONE assigned parking spot. Make sure you display your parking permit, because your car will be towed at your expense within 1 ONE hour of leaving your vehicle. To make matters worse, the towing company is located in Los Alamitos, about 35 minutes from Homestead...That's a LONG, LONG walk. Good luck if you have a second car. Yes it is close to CSUF, but so are 20 (TWENTY) other apartments. Even if you have the proper permit displayed, they may still tow your car. Management resurfaced their parking spaces on a fine sunny Sunday...of course they didn't tell anyone about this until the day of. Management had the towing company break into my car and my roomate's car to put the parking brake down to tow the cars away. How do I know this...because my roomate was not able to open her car door when she found her car...because the towtruck driver broke the internal mechanisms...$$ to repair. Of course we confronted the mangement staff about this matter, they argued with us and stated they had sent fliers a week prior. LIES LIES LIES. Maybe they printed the fliers a week in advance, but they never delivered them. I spoke with several other units and they stated what I already knew, a notice was never sent or distributed. Maintainance sucks. They have about four pools in the entire complex, but wouldn't you know it, only one pool ever really worked at any one time. One pool was being resurfaced (I didn't live there long enough to see it finished...). One pool was heated too hot, the thermostat was broken and know one seemed too concerned when we mentioned this. Another pool had no heat at all, nor did its pumps work. If you're doing your laundry, make sure you keep an eye on it the entire time. I've had some contents stolen while in the rinse cycle. I've also had my dryer hijacked...put money into the machine...but the clothes were still wet...dryer was hot...conclusion, someone took my clothes out and placed theirs in and just before the cycle was finished, replaced my clothes thinking they were real slick. Take my advice and the advice of all those who took the time to review this place, move in somewhere else. The other places might not look as good, but at least you're not spending as much money for the same mediocre service and facilities.
