Apartment Review
If you want to be robbed move here...
Review Date: 9/4/2006

This is the best place to have your belongings being stolen. This is our story: In June 2006 my son moved out of The Streams apartment after living there for one year and a half. I went to Fullerton to help him move out and many interesting things happened to us during his last week. My son tried several times to have the management to allow him the right to have a walk through of the apartment. Unfortunately he was never given that possibility, since every time he approached the office management they had a different reason not to do it. Either they did not have his folder with them or no manager was available to do it at the time. Reality is they were very busy trying to rent apartments to other people and careless about the ones moving out. Finally came his last day and we had to leave, so we went back to the office and one of the ladies who worked there told us to come back the next day on Saturday, so we did. On Saturday we were told that the manager was not there because it was her day off and the assistant manager told us that he couldnt do the walk through because he did not have my sons folder with him at the moment. So unable to do the walk through we headed home to Nevada. As we were driving back home we realized that we had left my sons nicest clothes hanging in 2 travel bags in the downstairs closet. We immediately contacted the office and the lady who is in charge of weekend calls did nothing to help us. Of course by Sunday morning my sons clothes were mysteriously gone. Here comes the interesting part: some neighbors told us that they saw cleaning crew and painters in my sons apartment Friday afternoon. Of course this didnt surprise us because earlier in the week as we were moving furniture out, two painters came to my sons apartment ready to do their work without having a clue that we were still there (I guess they were in little bit of a hurry trying to get the apartment ready for the next tenants). But mmmm interesting, I guess this place allows painters and cleaning crew to arrive before the management evaluates the place to decide how much money they would keep from a tenants deposit? Though this is the case, when confronted, the manager was very quick to say to me 4 days after the facts that she was there Saturday at 6: 00 AM and that she was the first person in the apartment. I say 4 days, because before that she wouldnt respond our calls and I have to personally drive 4 hours back to Fullerton to get her attention. Also, her statement contradicts the fact that the very same Saturday the assistant manager had no knowledge that she had magically showed up on her day off. So the question is: Is it there any room for more lies and covered up work? The answer is YES, why? because the manager, the lady in charge of the care of the premises, and the lady in charge of weekends emergencies, they are all related but they would never disclose this to anybody. And you want to know why? Here comes the BIG part, they are all the daughters of the manager of the management corporation office. As we say: Family business stays in the family including the dirty stuff and the mistakes that deeply affect other peoples lives. But if you think that the lost of my sons expensive clothes is all that happened to us that week, you are wrong, there is still more. The day before we moved out, somebody stole my sons colored clothes from the laundry drier. Again the management accepted no responsibility. I guess that since this was a laundry issue they had soap & water handy to wash their hands off the matter. But at the end I feel the obligation to share with you the positive side of this apartment complex: The cute ducks, these wonderful fellows do a great job at entertaining and keeping the tenants distracted of all the negativity of the place, management, parking, robberies, etc. They really do a good job, and clearly they do their job much better than the management does theirs. THUMBS UP FOR THE DUCKS!!!!!!!!
