Apartment Review
Not worth the $$

Although this apartment is very inexpensive for the Fullerton area, it is not even worth the money. PARKING:Parking is not assigned and there are not enough parking spaces for all units. When lot is full people either park illegally in red or in loading zones of driveways or park on the street in front of apartments (and risk a parking ticket from City of Fullerton between 2am-5am). NOISE:Poor sound proofing. I can hear the alarm going off 5 doors down. Also, (Not the apartments fault but-)there is construction going on next door for a church. It is loud M-F during "working hours" GROUNDS:Trash is overflowing in trash cans constantly and old furniture takes up the already sparse parking spaces. Some potholes on driveway were covered, but not the best job. Litter is all over apartment due to some tenants' irresponsibility (in cleaning up after oneself) as well as management's irresponsibility (to see that grounds are cleaned). SAFETY: Parking lot is lit by several flood lights a filmed(?) by security cameras. There are also security cameras inside building however it is anyone's guess as to if they are actually recording anything. The police are here at least once every two weeks or less for one disturbance or another. There are keys to get into main building for "safety" however hinges are broken on one so it does not close automatically and other two are left open most of the time. One night upon coming into main lobby area to check mail, I discovered a homeless man laying on lobby couch sleeping. That doesnt sound like much of a security system does it? CONSTRUCTION: Toilet in our unit does not sit flat on floor and rocks back and forth as well as leaks. There is no sound or heat insulation. There are roaches in apartments and due to lack of sealant around pipe openings and spaces under doors they are able to crawl from one place to another freely. MAINTENANCE: Staff speaks only Spanish. Frustrating and difficult to get problems solved. (I'm assuming) to save money on water bills (studios pay no utilities) maintenance came to fix my leaky bathtub. He came and left several times and by the time he was done, there were dirty footprints all in the shower as well as whatever the sealants and materials he used. He did not clean up after himself, spoke little/no english so I wasn't completely sure what was happening and when I did try to turn on the shower later had to use all my strength and several tries just to get it on. I'd rather have had the leak. Also all summer the air was not on and Management told one tenant I know who was lucky enough to catch her gracing the office with her prescence that they were "working on it". It's mid-October and still isnt fixed. The ambulance was called once (that I saw) to treat someone for heat exhaustion. They're lucky no one died, especially with how hot it's been. STAFF:The manager (Cindy M.) is impossible to reach and VERY rarely in the office. Requests to fix things are forgotten and not followed up on. Management replaced washing machines and dryers with OLDER machines AND increased the prices to wash/dry. Staff is unhelpful and unprofessional. Letters sent out to tenants are full of grammar and spelling errors. Tenants were instucted on handwritten and highlighted paper to "just push rent under office door". I have no experience in management but I have lived in enough apartments to know this is not how management is supposed to be done. OVERALL: If you have ABSOLUTELY no where else to live and are completely desperate then come here, save money/get better paying job and move out ASAP. That's what I'm doing. This is the worst apartment I have ever lived in and will be relieved when my lease is up. I realize that a one bedroom is $1000 and up but i'd rather pay the extra to feel safe, be in a clean environment, have somewhere to park and be served by a manager that actually cared about their tenants instead of just trying to make a quick buck. Anyone who is experienced in sales knows that keeping the customer happy is the best way to grow your business because they tell their friends how wonderful your product is and you get more customers. This apartment is losing tenants because they are failing at the most fundamental principle of business: keep the customer happy. This apartment needs a manager and a maintenace staff ready to help the tenants of this community live in an affordable yet comfortable place.
